Gretchen is a 3 year old min pin girl who weighs 13 lbs. She is super sweet and loves everyone she meets. She is coming from a home that had not taken care of her very well. She gets along with other dogs and NOT cats. Gretchen is very social and is looking for her forever home. She is house trained on a schedule but has had accidents when it is really cold. She is kennel trained and walks good on a leash.

UPDATE-3/2014

Gretchen likes to dominate the play with other dogs, she will jump in and try to direct/take over the play when other dogs are playing. This may be welcomed or may cause fights. She loves attention, can’t get enough, though tends to clamor for it a lot. If you don’t mind that, she’s a beaut and wonderful. We thinks she’s part cat b/c she loves to climb up to you shoulders at times, particularly when sitting on the couch. She’s a mouser (typical of her breed) and squirrels/rodents will capture her attention quickly. She loves to cuddle and borough under the blankets (typical of the breed also). She’s a very lovable, active, playful dog…good alone or with others.

CATS: Um, no cats please…she’ll tear after them in a flash and not back down. We have one but are able to keep them separate to avoid conflicts.

HOUSE TRAINING: She’s house housebroken, though at times may go inside if not given the time to relieve herself outside. All in all, good.

KENNELS: She’s kenneled during the work day and at night…she is fine with it and giving her a treat sweetens the deal. She’s best in a small kennel, if larger than she is, she stays active an is noisy.

CHILDREN: As far as we know she’s fine w/ children. She does demand a lot of attention from us, so older kids should be fine, younger ones/toddlers are like too close to her size and may get scratched w/ her inadvertent clamoring for play.

WALKING/TRAVEL: She walks on a leash and in a kennel in a car well.

BARKING: some barking if there is other dogs/animals outside her yard. Inside she may bark when playing, barks when there are visitors at the door, but is not a nuisance or bothersome.

GROOMING: She’s a shorthair min-pin, not much grooming needed…an occasional bath and light brush.

FOOD: we feed her a high-grade pet food such as HALO Spot’s Stew or Evolution Diet as a base and add leftovers, trimmings from fruits & vegetables etc. to all her meals. We have little food waste because we use it to supplement our dogs diets which in turn increases their health, endurance, stamina, energy and longer life span by providing fresh food in their diet.
