Description:
If you adopt Lil' Ricky he's sure to be your best friend in no time at all. Ricky is adorable .... a real "people-dog," who likes nothing better than snuggling. When we share some time laying on the sofa, he is flipped over onto his back in minutes - and falls quickly and safely to sleep. He looks like a German Sheppard .... but is really only 20 pounds of affection. Loves running in the yard, playing ball, and taking leashed walks. He's a joy on the leash. He is not aggressive with other dogs that cross our path. Ricky and my 7-year old cat have become friends, and have a respectful relationship. He learned quickly how to treat the cat. Ricky always lets me know when someone is at the door but, within minutes has made a new friend! Ricky is a perfect gentleman when riding in the car, staying quietly in the back seat and watching out the window until he finally takes advantage of the time for a quick nap. Ricky came to me house-broken, and lets me know when he wants to go outside by sitting by his door. I have successfully worked with him on "stay" and "sit." He enjoys chewing, so I always make sure he has his bone and/or a pair of old rolled-up socks to entertain him when I leave him alone. Ricky sleeps through the night, and is great company all day long. He would make such a good member in any loving family, and is very good with children that know how to respect a dog's boundaries. If interested in giving him his Forever Home don't delay ~ click on the Adoption Application button today. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
