Description:
Meet Karley! Karley was sitting in the pound just waiting for someone to rescue her. She just wanted a warm place to lay her little head. She is now in a loving foster home who will watch after her until she can find her FOREVER home. Karly is a beautiful little girl who appears to be a mix of Eskimo or Spitz and Pomeranian. She is a petite girl with a fox-like face and beautiful soft fur in shades of blond and tan. She was unclaimed at an impound but clearly was someone’s well-loved pet before she got lost. Karley is housebroken and very calm and sweet in the house, especially for her young age. She loves to be near a person and will often lay at her foster mom’s feet. She is left home uncrated during the work day and is well-behaved and likes to sleep on the couch or chew on a rawhide until she can joyfully greet the human again. At night she sleeps on a special blanket on the floor next to her foster mom’s bed, and then when she wakes up in the morning, stands on her hind legs and asks for permission to come up and snuggle by wagging her tail and smiling—permission is always granted! She is very polite to the cats in her foster home. Karly loves going for walks—when she first steps out on her leash she spins in happy circles and holds the leash in her mouth. She is not a tugger but is a real fan of walking and should have a good walk every day—she will be an excellent exercise pal for some lucky adopter. Unlike some small dogs, she is not bossy or hyper—very calm and sweet in the house, and lets a 4 pound dog take her bones away. She likes other dogs but does not seem to have a lot of experience with them—does not seem to know “doggie games” yet but will no doubt learn and will love the dog parks. Outside she is joyfully active and loves to roll in the snow, run with a stick, or dig her muzzle into the snow and then look at the human with snow on her face. She will need to have very high quality food, because she is a rather light eater. She is a good car rider—looks over your shoulder from the back seat, and then curls up and goes to sleep. She is not much of a barker unless she is outside and hears other dogs barking, or out of excitement meeting other dogs. Karley does have many traits of an American Eskimo so a apartment/condo with constant sounds of people coming and going is probably not where Karley should go - she will bark at the activity. She will gladly sit on people’s laps and likes to give little kisses to hands and feet. This is a wonderful girl who is just so good and sweet and kind, she will be a real blessing to the home that is lucky enough to adopt her. Only the best for this little girl! Please feel free to fill out an Adoption Application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank you!! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
