Meet Scotty, he's a lively 1 yr old looking for his forever home. MARS found him in Texas and rescued him just minutes before he was going to be put down. Now that he has a second chance, he just wants to have fun! You'll be hard pressed to find a dog with a better outlook on life.

He's a medium size/energy dog who likes to play and run but is also content laying at your feet, or hanging out on the couch with you — if you let him :) His favorite thing to do is chase his tennis ball outside. Even if he's dog tired he still somehow finds the energy to go after it at full speed. If you're looking for some added home protection Scotty would make a great deterrent. He's much too kind to attack, but he will bark to alert you to unusual noises outside.

Scotty is also very smart and catches on quickly, despite the fact that he always seems to have his head in the clouds. I've taught him how to sit, high-five (with both paws), shake (with both paws), wait patiently for his food, and drop his ball in the yard. He's very food motivated and eager to please. He loves being given tasks and being rewarded for a good job.

Right now he lives with 2 cats and a 6 yr old female Pomeranian. He doesn't mind the cats too much, sometimes he'll try to play with them, but you just tell him, “No!” and he stops. He gets along great with the female Pom, they're like best friends now, but he seems to have issues with some other male dogs. He gets a little aggressive around them, but with girls he's just fine.

If you're looking for a dog you can get up and go with, one who's aways ready to do something with you, Scotty is your best choice. He still needs some training on his leash, but if you're willing to put the time and effort in I guarantee he won't disappoint you. He's very genuine in all his actions. Sometimes he can be a bit naughty, but he never means it. Boxers and boxer mixes will sometimes test their boundaries. I say this sincerely, Scotty is a lovable soul.
