Meet Forrester!
Forrester (also known as "Buddy") has been the ultimate "mellow fellow" since joining our family as a foster. He is a sweetheart of a dog that just loves to cuddle on the sofa or on the bed, but be forewarned that he needs a helpful hand to *boost him up* since his short little legs aren't built for leaping! Forrester is such a sweet, calm guy, and was easily introduced to the other 6 dogs in the house. He is not overly playful with the other dogs, but is very tolerant of them. He can be protective of his food or rawhides. Forrester prefers to hang with his people, or lounge quietly on the floor. He does great with kids, and with new people coming into the house. He LOVES to go outside and walks very nicely on a leash.With those short little legs, his nose is close to the ground and can catch all those good smells during an outside adventure. He has also been VERY good about letting us know when he needs to go outside to do his business. Forrester has been very quiet, and has only "spoken up" a couple times....once to announce a visitor (one quick bark) and once to happily talk with the pack about something. he responds very well to a "shhh" to stop when directed to do so. He takes treats with a soft mouth and has a great appetite. Just an all-around great family dog for those more into sitting down together for movie nights than those who are looking for a running buddy! *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
