Meet Jerry Lee!

Jerry's owner had to surrender this poor boy because German Shepherds are not allowed in their rental property :( Now this poor boy is looking for a new home.

Jerry Lee is very much still a puppy so he will need LOTS of excerise and obedience to help him become a well mannered boy. Jerry loves to play with his kitty brother so we believe he will be fine with cats that don't mind puppy slobber or the occasional chase!

Because Jerry is still a puppy and very exhitable he may be too boisterous for families with small children because he may accidently knock them on their butts.

UPDATE FROM JERRY LEE'S ADOPTIVE HOME, MAY 31, 2010:

Just stopping by to say that Max is a wonderful dog and doing absolutely great. He is such a happy boy, and
eager to please. He starts his Canine Good Citizen certificate training next week. We took him out in a kayak
over the weekend and it turns out he is an avid and very strong swimmer and loves it. He is a bundle of fun. He
also loves being squirted full force in the face with the hose, and he will play in the sprinkler for a long time. You
cannot water the backyard with him around, and if the hose is going and he can't play with it, he cries. Here are a
few pics for you.

UPDATE FROM JERRY LEE'S ADOPTIVE HOME, JUNE 19, 2011:

Jerry Lee, is now known very fondly as "Maximus" or sometimes "Max the Moose," or just "Moose." He is nearly 2, and we have had him for just over one year. He is doing FABULOUS! We don't believe there could be a more wonderful dog or German Shepherd out there. Anyone who gets to know him loves him. He completed six weeks of onsite training with Irina Shimko, RedStar-Kennel, Hudson, WI, this spring, which is basic companionship. He is a tremendous pet, companion and well-behaved, loving dog.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
