Description:
Meet Jasper! Jasper has been waiting patiently for his forever home to find him. His foster mom says that he is the sweetest, friendliest, most affectionate and playful dogs she's ever fostered. HOWEVER, he was not always like this... Jasper was born in a rural puppy mill. Due to lack of human contact and socialization he was very timid and unsure around people and as a result was passed over time and time again. He was finally surrendered to rescue when he was 10 months old. It took a long time for Jasper to understand that humans can be loving and that being pet can feel really good! He is still shy around new people...but cannot get enough lovin' and affection from his foster mom! He would follow her to the moon and back just to get another tummy rub or scratch behind the ear. The problem is... his foster mom has 10 dogs and only 2 hands for petting and scratching! He would so love a home of his own where he could get more attention! Jasper LOVES the other dogs in his foster home. His favorite thing to do is race around the backyard and engage the others in chasing him. He can run like the wind! He loves dogs of all ages -from 6 week old puppies to seniors.... and gets all of them to play with him! Jasper is curious about the cats in the foster home, but leaves them alone. They just are not as fun to play with as the other dogs and squeaky toys! (He LOVES soft plush squeaky toys and can often be found- and heard- squeaking away to his hearts content!) This beautiful dog just needs TIME to adjust and get comfortable and he will work his way into your heart and soul! If you have a quieter home with no young children, a physically fenced in yard, a playful dog (or two or three) and love to spare.... you will not regret giving this little guy a chance! To meet Jasper, please fill out one of our on-line applications by clicking on the adopt button below! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
