Description:

Meet Frida!

Frida is an adorable girl who is very sweet and loving. She might be 10 but she has the heart of a puppy!

Frida loves car rides, is good with other dogs and people of all ages.

Due to her age, she does have a loose bladder that she cannot help and occasionally "dribbles"- mostly around men when she gets excited. She is missing some teeth but has not problem eating. In fact, she eats quickly so needs help with timed eating and measured eating.

Frida is a little vision loss and an old fractured foot that healed, so she will sometimes limp with excessive exercise but does not require any special treatments. Despite her age and minor ailments, Frida is a lively and loveable dog.

Frida is not very vocal, she usually only barks when she has to go potty, wants to eat, the water bowl is empty or you stop petting her before she wants you to be done.

She does have some separation anxiety so does not do well being kenneled or contained alone.  She requires a fenced in yard as she will attempt to escape through the door when the opportunity arises.

Frida knows "sit", "wait", "go lay down", "come" and walks nicely on a leash. She likes to be outdoors but does not like lakes or swimming. She does well with baths, nail trims, and loud noises such as fireworks or thunderstorms.

. Frida did test positive for heartworm disease and HAS BEEN treated so she can now have a happy and healthy life.

She does have a loose bladder she can not help, occasional dribbles and mostly with men she excited pees. She is missing teeth but has no problems eating...she does eat very fast and needs help with timed eating and mesured eating. Little hard on eyesight and an old fractured foot that healed she occasionally limps with excessive exercise to watch for but no special treatments. She is a lively loveable doggie. Only time she barks is when she has to potty and wants to eat, the water bowl is empty, or you stopped petting her before she wanted to be done.  She does have some seperation anxiety and does NOT do well with being kenneled or contained alone! Requires fenced yard and will attempt to charge front door to escape. She does know sit, wait, go lay down, come, and she walks nice on a leash. Her tail is what we call a "happy meter" not suggesred for little kids..does hurt when its moving..and hits hard on surfaces.. she is a happy dog with a wiggle butt! She has long legs...easy to reach counters but mainly always wants to be near her human.
She Loves camping... dirt, hikes( long walks, not to extreme) .
Wants nothing to do with lakes, swimming or and body of water. She does good with baths...nail trims she is nervous and does better with grinding. She is not bothered by thunderstorms or fireworks or loud noises.

She doesn't play per say, she does a lil dance before she eats, gets a treat, and if you brush her...joy of joys!! Very loving and happy! Just wants to love and be loved...and eat...

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
