Meet Emerson!

Emerson is a gentleman who needs to feel safe before interacting with people he does not trust. Men can be eespecially intimidating and therefore he will need lots of time to trust. A soft hand and voice will help him to see he has nothing to worry about. We do not have a lot of information prior to rescue, so knowing that he is wary of men tells nus that they may have been a bit harsh in the past. His new home needs to allow him time to trust and to work on that slowly and consistantly. Once he does trust, he finds his way onto your lap and into your heart.

Emerson walks great on a leash. He also loves to run in a fenced yard -whether it's in your own backyard or at a trip to the dog park. He is good with other dogs and doesn't mind the cats either!

He is very energentic. He loves to be out in the fenced yard and running 3 or 4 times a day 20 - 30 minutes plus play time in the house!

Emerson has a good appetite - he loves his food and loves treats. He is not a picky eater at all. He is food motivated so this will help in his transition to his forever home.

Emerson is smart. He is kennel trained and potty trained as well.

He will make a great addition to any home!

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
