COME MEET ME AT IKEA! (More information here: http://www.
I came to MARS in April 2009 as an "owner abandon" and the MARS people think I received very little to no discipline in my former home. Since arrival I have been in a home with foster parents who are experienced in bully breeds, so I have been getting the love and structure I desperately need. I have many of the characteristics my breed is known for- energy and enthusiasm, along with strong-willed attitude. Because of this, I really need to go to a home with previous bully breed experience, or a strong pack-leader attitude. Alrighty, so more about me and how wonderful I am... I know how to sit, lay down, and stay. I am good with cats and good with dominant dogs (I am willing to be submisisve), however with submissive dogs I try to show them who's boss (me)! My foster mom is a marthon runner, so I am used to getting exercise often and one time she even took me on a twelve mile run...and I kept up! Not that I would expect twelve mile runs from you- but I just wanted to show that I do have energy which will need to be burned off somehow! I don't mind kids- and actually live with a couple young ones- but because of my energy leveles, which won't slow down for a couple years yet- it would be best if I went to a home without really little kids. I don't want to make you mad by accidentally knocking one over! The PERFECT home for me would be a single or couple who is very physically active and isn't afraid to be my pack leader. You know, like that Caesar guy talks about! My foster mom says I get compliments all the time on my "exotic looks" while we are out for walks, and I do like to cuddle after a long days' playing...so I've got lots to offer you! All I need from you is an offer of your home, love, and rules! Thanks for checking out my bio! Chao, Ginger Update from foster mom: Ginger (aka "Ginny") is settling in and doing well. She is a lively little girl with plenty of spunk. As she is very puppyish still, she needs constant reminders on the proper way to behave. We are working with her on the basic commands: sit (which she already knew), stay, lie down, walking on a leash etc. She is friendly towards people, little kids included, and other dogs, providing her pack leader does not let her try and run the show. She has not had direct contact with cats yet, but has seen them through a gate. She was curious, but did not show signs of aggression, mostly just wanted to check them out. Ginger has the potential to be such a good little girl. She's loving, spirited, courageous, and very trainable. With consistent training and love, she'll definitely live up to that potential. Thank You! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
