Description:

Meet Eleanor Aka Minnie!

She has grown and changed so much since she arrived,
here are a few highlights:

*Potty trained! Minnie always goes to the bathroom outside
with her foster sister and hasn’t had an accident in over a
month!

*Sleeps all night in her kennel! Minnie goes right to bed when
it’s time and doesn’t whine. She sleeps about 9 hours in her
kennel at night. If she has to be kenneled during the day she
does okay too... little more whining but she IS still a puppy!
*Smart as a Border Collie - we do not think she is anywhere near
100% cattle dog, although she has the energy of one! Minnie
knows “sit” “shake” “jump” “turn around” and is amazing at
“wait” for a pup her age! She could easily be trained as an agility
dog, as she is so quick, smart, and treat motivated!
*Cuddly too! Minnie is all about the exercise and having fun, but
she has her down time too! She still likes to be held and will curl
up and watch Netflix with the girls in the afternoon and evening
before bed. She loves attention!!
Things we are working on: Minnie is very cautious about new
people and new dogs. She doesn’t do well with new dogs who are
hyper and want to jump on her and immediately wrestle. She is
fine with calm dogs and would be fine with ANY dog eventually!
She loves her Border Collie foster sister and
they race around the yard and wrestle all morning. As per her
breed, she is a barker and will bark at passers-by when in the
backyard or when walking, as she wants to protect her territory.
With a little more training and practice this won’t be an issue.
Minnie needs a family, couple, or individual who wants an
energetic, fun, smart, trainable dog to be an active part of their
lives! Whoever gets this puppy will have a loyal friend for life.

*Note* Pups this young should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with housetraining and socialization.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.

How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.

Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.

If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history.
