Description:
Beatrice came from a rural puppy mill. She had never lived a day of her life as a normal pet in a home, with the love and attention a pet deserves. It is possible she had never even been petted in her life. She was just rescued from that terrible life and is now in a special foster home to help her learn what it is like to be a dog.

Because Beatrice came from a rural breeder, she needs help with socialization and adjusting to life in a home environment. Fenced yards and a home with other stable dogs to show them the ropes are best for dogs coming from this type of situation.

AN UPDATE FROM BEATRICE'S FOSTER:

Beatrice is doing really well. She seems quite confident with herself. She loves attention but doesn't beg for it or show signs of separation anxiety. She has no interest in cats and gets along well with dogs. And she loves kids! So far we've had no accidents in the house either! She has warmed up to visitors quite quickly. She likes lots of friendly voices and encouragement. Oh and her energy level is very low! She is so sweet. Honestly, it's hard to believe she came from a mill.

Here's a list of what Beatrice said she would like:

1. Anyone who will give me lots and lots of love.
2. A small apartment or yard would be just fine
3. Very soft beds
4. Slow walks are nice. I'm not in a hurry to go anywhere.
5. I don't ask for much...I'm not needy.
6. Cats are fine. I don't mind them at all.
7. I think I like sleeping in my crate, but if you have an extra bed by wherever you are, that's nice too.
8. Kids would be fun (but I'm okay without lots of action too)
9. My vet and my foster family says I should lose a couple of pounds. I just say it's more of me to love, but I guess they know best!

Beatrice has decided that she was built for comfort and knew her day in the sun would come!
