Jazzy is extremely friendly, loving and outgoing-settled into her foster family immediately! She is tiny in weight but sturdy-she bounds around the house - leaping on/off the couch/beds and can easily run up and down steps -she is small but not "fragile". She is playful and LOVE tennis balls - fetching and batting them around. She also likes to play chase around the house. Jazzy is good with other small dogs who are calm and not "in her face" - she would not do well in a home with a dominant dog - although she is not dominant in nature she does not like to be bossed around by an alpha dog and will hold her own. She also has a "play growl" which may be miss understood by a dominant dog.
She LOVES snuggling on the couch with her foster family and sleeping under the covers on cold nights. She has been excellent with potting outside (even in the frigid weather). She whines a little bit when first put in her kennel but settles down quickly, and rarely barks. Jazzy is a great little girl and would make an excellent only dog or addition to a calmer dog family. She loves her 15 year old foster girl and due to her small size would need a home with children who are dog savvy or a little bit older. Jazzy has a mild case of "cherry eye" and will have follow-up with vet for treatment recommendations.
When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.
